Admiral Curl - 8500

“Admiral Curl” 2020 16.3h Thoroughbred gelding sired by Curlin. Large bodied and SOLID dude, he’s grown 2” since retiring and just begun to fill out width wise. Last raced Feb 2025, let down, turned out, barefoot and lightly recently restarted. Curl has been living out 24/7 and is happy amongst any company, he’ll hang with the chill mare or babysit the rowdy yearling. Easy to catch, well mannered, cross ties, stands to bathe etc. He is a very sweet guy to be around and enjoys people, if you go out in the field he’s got to come see what you’re doing. He recently was restarted under saddle, making him still eligible for the retired race horse project. Ride one was focused on installing a go button (something I find many Curlin kids lack coming off the track) which led to a very successful ride two. This guy will be suitable for a confident and competent ammy working with a trainer / familiar with young green horses with a calm vibe and willingness to bring him along slowly. No buck / bolt / spook to him. Ride two Curl was happily walk trot cantering around (no longer needed a crop to help steer) and beginning to relax through his back and stretch. We went to a softer Dee ring ride two and will go to a happy mouth the following ride, he is soft and is very naturally balanced. We did trot him over a few poles and baby cross rails. He was brave and honest, ending the ride with a tiny oxer. We really appreciated his attitude and willingness this ride along with the fact he built upon / remembered the previous ride so well. Lovely horse that could go a number of directions. No known issues or vices.
